I’d like to begin with a disclaimer, in case anyone I mention in this email gets traded immediately and I look foolish: this email was written at 4:13 pm.
Now, onto some high drama!
The Matchweek to end all Matchweeks (that is: Rivalry Week) most certainly did not let us down.
In the Roommate Rumble, Will eked out a win over Isaac despite the absolutely goddam revelatory performance from Cam Thomas. Back to back 40-point games from the man Isaac originally drafted way back in whatever month we did that in. Magical. Will’s team was of course led by Russ, a fact that I’m sure is giving Will heart palpitations every time he gets a BR notification.
In the Collegiate Collision, Cody pulled away from Peanut with another impressive week by Okongwu. Still haven’t given up on trading for him.
In the Battle Between the Old Man Team and the Man Who Doesn’t Pay Attention to This League (official title) OMT managed to scrape together a couple of old bums and overrun Malik Monk on the final day.
In the Twerk Uranus Bowl (I hate you guys) decisions were made, good scorers were left on the bench, and Larry Nance Jr made his All-Star case as Steven found a way to victory.
The other game was balls; I dominated.
With all the implications of last week at the top and bottom of the table, here is how it stands now:
1-Will, with the tie-breaker in head-to-head wins over Isaac
2-Isaac
[Gap]
3-Me, bitches
4-Michael, even in head-to-heads with Steven. Not sure what their second tie-breaker is, but it hardly matters because as it stands they’ll play each other in the first rd
5-Steven
6-Cody, with a pretty comfy cushion above and below
7-Old Man Team, mothafuckaaaaaaas
8-Peanut, the final playoff team by some tie-breaker
9-Daniel
10-Kenny
As for this trade business…
-Dewayne Dedmon to the Spurs is great news for his stock. Also feels like it could be protection against a Poeltl trade, so keep your eye on him moving to a bench role with a contender
-Markieff Morris didn’t play for the Nets and I don’t expect him to play for the Mavs either
-I really can’t figure out the Nets starting lineup, but it’ll be exciting for us regardless of who shakes free (I hope O’Neale, which is why OMT went ahead and stashed him)
-Bones Hyland hasn’t been traded yet but dammit they better free my guy. Feels like listening to fantasy trade offers right now is risky, but I’m gonna open up the floor in case anyone’s interested
Some Bonus Stars!
The Old Man Team Rules Bonus Star goes to Old Man Team for Khris Middleton coming off the bench six games in a row. Love that for me.
The Ain’t Shit Funny Bonus Star goes to Isaac.
The Spiteful Bitch Bonus Star goes to Michael for scooping Christian Wood right after losing to Steven. I don’t think he’ll stay on the bench for long, but I love it.
I’ll leave you with a final word of advice: Devin Booker comes back tonight, so maybe drop your Suns players.
