Atlanta Hawks
• De’Andre Hunter – Missed preseason with a knee injury. No reporting before or during preseason. Not expected to affect anything. But is Hunter solid enough to just hop into the starting lineup cold?
Charlotte Hornets
• Miles Bridges – Will miss the first 10 days of the season for beating the shit out of his girlfriend in front of their children. Recently threw billiard balls at her car while their kids were inside, turned himself in to police custody, and then appeared at Hornets’ practice. At minimum, he won’t play the first 10 games
Chicago
• Lonzo Ball – Gonna miss another year
Cleveland
• Jarrett Allen – As of October 7th he’ll be sidelined at least two weeks with a bone bruise in his ankle. So he could be back by the start of the regular season. But with how important he is and with how many wings they have, they could easily push Mobley to the 5 and bring Allen back slowly
• Ricky Rubio – No one’s sure what Rubio’s timeline is. He’s away from the team to focus on his mental health, and so far as I can find, the Cavs haven’t been in contact with him. Don’t draft this man
Denver
• Vlatko Cancar – Tore his ACL in the offseason and is out for the year
• Michael Porter Jr – General consensus is they’re just resting him because he gets hurt so much and they need him. But simply because he gets hurt so much, they might keep resting him
Detroit
• Isaiah Livers – As of October 2nd, Grade 3 ankle sprain, expected to miss 6-8 weeks
Golden State
• Draymond Green – Expected to be back by the regular season
Houston
• Kevin Porter Jr – Strangled his girlfriend until he broke a vertebra. Rockets told him he would never play for them again. Based on the Miles Bridges precedent from last year, he won’t play for anyone this year
Clippers
• Brandon Boston Jr – Still rehabbing a knee injury, but he’s practicing again
Lakers
• Jarred Vanderbilt – Missing preseason but expected to be good to go for the opener
Memphis
• Brandon Clarke – Tore his ACL at the end of last season. No timetable for return
• Ja Morant – Suspended the first 25 games for being stupid
Minnesota
• Jaden McDaniels – As of October 13th, sidelined with a calf injury. Re-evalutated in 7-10 days. That puts him right at the start of the season, so we’ll be keeping an eye on him
New Orleans
• Trey Murphy III – Had surgery on his knee on September 7th. Expected to miss 10-12 weeks
• Larry Nance Jr – Missing preseason. Optimistic he’ll be ready for opening night
• Jose Alvarado – Missing preseason. Aiming for opening night
• Naji Marshall – As of October 15th, will be re-evaluated in two weeks for a bone bruise in his knee. Will miss the start of the season
OKC
• Poku – As of October 4th, sprained his right ankle and will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Will miss the start of the season
• Victor Oladipo – Missed training camp with the injury he sustained late last year. No timetable
Philly
• Montrezl Harrell – Tore his ACL in August
• James Harden – Says he’s gonna play
Phoenix
• Damion Lee – Tore his meniscus October 11th. Out indefinitely
Toronto
• Otto Porter Jr – Returning to practice and is on schedule to play for the regular season
Washington
• Anthony Gil – As of October 14th, strained his left hamstring and will be out 2-3 weeks
• Landry Shamet – Broke his big toe October 10th and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. Making him iffy for the start of the season
